At BVA, the hands-on exposure is paired with a mentorship-driven culture.
— Chris Salamah
Q: What drew you to the firm?
I was a summer analyst at BVA before joining as a full-time analyst in 2024. I was originally drawn to the internship because BVA lay at the intersection of two of my interests: law and finance. From day one of my internship, I collaborated with team members whose intellectual rigor and collegial spirit convinced me that BVA was the ideal place to launch my career.
Q: What makes BVA a great place for recent graduates or professionals early in their careers?
At BVA, new analysts assume meaningful responsibilities from day one, working on substantive tasks across both litigation and valuation engagements rather than on rote assignments. That hands-on exposure is paired with a mentorship-driven culture: senior colleagues deliver real-time, constructive feedback on everything from financial models to case-related research. Because our project teams include experts in economics, accounting, financial modeling, and valuation-based litigation, early-career professionals rapidly build a multidisciplinary skill set and a network of mentors across the firm.
Q: How has working at BVA provided you with unique professional opportunities?
The vast exposure to many different types of cases that BVA provides new analysts has been instrumental in my professional growth so far. And it’s not a jack-of-all trades, master-of-none scenario—excellence is the standard at BVA, so whether I am providing analysis for a financial forensic investigation, securities fraud, or lost profits case, I learn in-depth (from my own research, as well as from senior team members) about each topic, broadening my subject-matter knowledge and analytical skillset.
Q: How does BVA help employees grow professionally?
BVA fully supports credentialing, providing employees the support they need to pursue designations such as the CFA, ASA, or CFE. On top of that, BVA also has a culture of continuous learning: we often have “lunch-and-learn” trainings where, over lunch, senior team members present on relevant valuation or litigation topics, ensuring that everyone stays current on cutting-edge methodologies.
